Edmund Plump Plump at the Pool Party
Edmund Plump Plump at the Pool Party — ink & graphite on paper, colored in Photoshop (6” x 10”)
intent: Edmund Plump Plump was invited to a pool party but it looks a little creepy. He’s not so sure he wants to take the plunge.
I had a lot of fun with the coloring process of this one. I took my time building up a lot of layers with various blending modes so it felt like I was back working on a painting with lots of glaze layers. I also intentionally tried to keep it a brighter palette than I’d usually work with.
This work is also a bit seminal as it marks the first time I’ve put Edmund Plump Plump in color.
Edmund Plump Plump: a series capturing the adventures of Edmund Plump Plump. Plumps are sort of like a lump on a stump. They tend to be somber little creatures and can come off as a bit of a frump.
